6 Essential Components
A solar atta chakki system comprises six key components that work together to deliver efficient, diesel-free flour grinding.
1. Flour Mill
The primary component with a minimum diameter of 20 inches capable of producing 10-15 quintals of flour daily, generating profits of ₹2000-2500 per day.
2. Motor
A 10 HP motor to operate 20-24 inch flour mills. High-quality motors with minimal jerk load perform excellently on solar panels, ensuring smooth operation.
3. Solar VFD Drive
Converts DC energy from solar panels into AC energy for the motor. Always use a drive 1.5x larger than motor HP (e.g., 15HP drive for 10HP motor) to handle peak loads.
4. Solar Panels
The most expensive component. We recommend Mono PERC technology for maximum year-round efficiency. Install 2-3 kW extra capacity than motor HP for consistent performance in all sunlight conditions.
5. Mounting Structure
Critical framework for optimal power generation. Panels must face south at the correct angle to maximize efficiency. Proper installation significantly impacts overall output.
6. Wiring & Cables
High-quality DC and AC cables connect all components. Proper gauge wiring ensures minimal power loss and safe, efficient electricity transmission throughout the system.

While Bi-facial panels (generate from both sides) offer long-term benefits, we recommend Mono-facial Mono PERC panels for most installations due to lower upfront costs, simple installation, and excellent year-round performance. They provide the best value for agricultural chakki applications.
