General Questions
What is On-Grid Solar System?
An On-Grid solar system is connected to your local utility grid. It enables you to generate your own electricity and export excess power back to the grid for credits (Net Metering). It is the most cost-effective solution and is eligible for government subsidies.
How much roof space do I need?
Typically, you need about 100 sq. ft. of shadow-free area for every 1kW of solar panel capacity. For a standard 3kW home system, you would need approximately 300 sq. ft. of clear roof space.
Does it work during power cuts?
Standard On-Grid systems shut down during power cuts for safety reasons (anti-islanding). If you need backup power during outages, you should opt for a Hybrid Solar System which includes batteries.
Subsidy & Finance
How much subsidy can I get?
Under PM Surya Ghar Yojana, you get:
- ₹30,000 for 1kW systems
- ₹60,000 for 2kW systems
- ₹78,000 for 3kW and above systems
When will I receive the subsidy?
The subsidy is released directly to your bank account by the central government. This typically happens within 30-45 days after the commissioning of the system (installation of net meter) and verification by the DISCOM officials.
Are solar loans available?
Yes, most nationalized banks (SBI, PNB, Canara Bank, etc.) offer specialized solar loans with low interest rates (around 7% - 9%) specifically for rooftop solar installations. We can assist you with the loan processing through our banking partners.
Installation & Maintenance
How long does installation take?
The actual installation of panels and inverters takes only 1-2 days for a residential site. However, the entire process including meter application, testing, and commissioning usually takes 2-4 weeks depending on DISCOM approvals.
What is included in the warranty?
- Solar Panels: 25 years performance warranty.
- Inverter: 5-10 years product warranty (extendable).
- Workmanship: 5 years warranty on installation quality by J.S. Enterprises & Solar Tech.
Does it require maintenance?
Solar systems are very low maintenance. The main requirement is cleaning the panels every 15-20 days to remove dust. We recommend a professional health check-up once a year to ensure optimal performance.
